It’s astounding to think that 248 years ago, our founding fathers declared independence from British rule.

Philadelphia was the place where it all happened. On July 4, 1776, the Declaration of Independence was adopted, setting forth the unalienable rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. The 13 American colonies took a bold step into freedom when they formed the United States of America.
