July 2019 Newsletter

July is an important month in the United States, and nowhere is this more evident than in Philadelphia where the Declaration of Independence was signed on July 4, 1776. This profound document set forth our rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. It also set the stage for over 240 years of barbecues, parades, and family celebrations, which of course include lots of fresh produce!

Our 21 merchants are excited about July at the Market. Most anticipated – cherries from Washington State, stone fruit from California, leafy greens from Canada, exotic summer fruits (lychee, rambutan, quenepa, finger limes, and baby pineapples), watermelon and corn from Georgia and, of course, LOCAL – blueberries, tomatoes, cabbage, cucumbers, squash, pickles, and string beans.

So, why not visit the Philadelphia Wholesale Produce Market and pick-up whatever mouthwatering produce you’re craving. Our founding fathers wouldn’t want it any other way!
