Statement on Coronavirus Updated 3/21/2020

The Philadelphia Wholesale Produce Market (PWPM) is an essential operation in the food supply throughout the Mid-Atlantic region. In consideration of the evolving Coronavirus situation, we must continue our efforts to ensure a clean safe environment. To accomplish this goal we must reduce the number of people in the facility and make adjustments that allow our dedicated staff time to properly clean and sanitize the facility.

We apologize for the inconvenience, but, these measures are necessary to maintain the health and safety of our employees and customers. Beginning tomorrow, March 22, 2020, we ask for your full cooperation to institute the following safety measures:

All truck drivers are required to remain in their vehicles while on the premises. Further instructions and contact information will be distributed at the vehicle entry gate.

To maintain a clean and safe environment, customers are required to wash their hands and use protective gloves before inspecting product. When possible, customers are encouraged to refrain from touching products/packaging.

We ask that customers only enter the facility if it is necessary. If you can make arrangements to have product delivered to your truck, van, or vehicle, please do so.

Protective gloves will be provided at each store and instructions for their use are posted and available. Please follow proper usage instructions and dispose of gloves in waste receptacles.

Please be advised the PWPM will be limiting building entry to entrances “C” and “H.” Limiting access to these entrances will allow the PWPM janitorial staff members more time to clean and sanitize key areas of the PWPM.

Please exercise social distancing practices and remain at least 6 (six) feet apart from other people while entering the facility and selecting products.

Thank you for your adherence. Together, we’ll get through this.
